Hydrate.

Hydration prior to and following massage is strongly encouraged. Massage promotes circulation and increasing your water intake helps encourage proper filtration of your vascular system.

In fact— ample hydration is strongly encouraged on a day to day basis. Water helps transport oxygen and nutrients to the working cells, assists in regulating somatic processes, and provides cushion for the joints.

Pause.

It’s easy to rush from obligation to obligation. The hour before and the hours following your massage should be as slow paced as your schedule will allow. This helps prepare your nervous system to receive a massage and facilitates deeper relaxation.

Following your massage, please allow time for your body to acclimate to being in a more relaxed state. It is recommend you refrain from moderate-high intensity exercises and lifting heavy loads for at least 24 hours.

Communicate.

Your comfort is a top priority. It is encouraged that you communicate areas of discomfort or pain before and during the service. This includes areas you want avoided.

Communication brings awareness to the body. This awareness can translate into the rest of your week. Being mindful of the body helps you to recognize when to step back— focus on your breath and soften clenched tissues.
